You use most to refer to the majority of a group of things or people or the largest part of something. 大多数; 大部分

pronoun [指示代词](数量上)最多,最大( much, a lot of, many 的最高级);大多数 - Seventeen civilians were hurt. Most are students who had been attending a twenty-first birthday party.  17名平民受了伤,其中大多数是参加一个21岁生日聚会的学生。

adverb [程度副词]最;(程度上)最大;极其,非常;<北美,非正式>几乎;(在谈话中用于引起注意)最…;通常;(可能的)最大量 - What she feared most was becoming like her mother.  她最害怕的是变得像她母亲一样。

只有加“the”时译为“最”,加“a”或什么也不加时译为“非常,相当”(“very”  的概念),常与形容词作用的过去分词连用。
